I randomly came across Weaver Cosmetics on Instagram, they are based in Portland Oregon. I was intrigued since their website says they are organic, vegan, and cruelty free. I decided to order a few of their liquid lipsticks which retail for $14.99. Keep on reading for my thoughts and pictures!
- Raw Shea Butter
- Carnauba Wax
- Fragrance (I asked her about this and she said that they use all natural organic essential oils)
* I had to ask for the ingredients because I don’t think they are posted online, which I think they should definitely post just for transparency.
I picked up the shades Teddy, Passion Pink, and Love Spell. You can choose the scent which comes in Vanilla, Chocolate, or Spearamint. You can also choose between a matte or a glossy finish. I got two in Vanilla and one in Chocolate, and I actually prefer the chocolate scent. I chose all mattes of course!
- L To R: Passion Pink, Love Spell, Teddy
Teddy – This is a pretty grey brown shade. It applies evenly and dries down to a satin finish I’d say. Definitely not as matte as an Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick. I wore this for around 4 hours today and then ate lunch and it came off. It fades nicely though, you don’t get any flaking or anything like that because it’s not super matte.
Love Spell – This is a pretty bright lavender purple shade. This wears and applies just as nicely as Teddy. I don’t love the vanilla scent though for some reason, and I usually love Vanilla. The taste on these isn’t the greatest either.
Passion Pink – I was hoping that this would be a light nude pink shade but it looked pretty much white on my lips! This is definitely not wearable for me, and I’m pretty fair so I’m not sure if this color would really work for anyone. This one didn’t apply evenly either. To make this color work at all I think i’ll try mixing it into Teddy to lighten up that shade for a different look or to highlight the center of my lips over top of my other lipsticks.
Overall Thoughts – I think they did a good job with these minus the shade Passion Pink and the taste isn’t my favorite, I swear I’m not eating them, you know how your lipstick just gets in your mouth haha. Overall these felt nice on my lips and had good pigmentation as well. I love supporting small businesses, and I think they will only get better over time. I will definitely pick up some more colors in the future. Oh and just an FYI, even the lipsticks in the Naked Chocolate Collection are now liquid lipsticks, the pictures show them as regular lipsticks.
