So I’ll give you the quick version of how I transitioned over to green beauty! After following Organic Bunny for a while on Instagram I decided it was time for me to make the switch. I owned about 25 to 30 MAC lipsticks and just had an overall love for makeup. I figured it wasn’t the best idea to be putting a bunch of toxic ingredients on my face and body daily! I try to live a pretty healthy lifestyle all around, I eat mostly organic food and workout on a regular basis. So it was only natural that I eventually cleaned up my beauty routine.
I started doing a lot of research on different brands and looking on Youtube and Instagram for suggestions and reviews. The first product I wanted to replace was my foundation since it covers all of my face daily. Below you’ll see a list of the first things I purchased when making the transition. Don’t feel like you have to replace everything all at once like I did. Start a little at a time and eventually you’ll clean out your makeup bag! I’d suggest using the app Think Dirty to scan some of your regular products and get rid of the ones with the highest scores first!
Vita Active Foundation in VF2 – This is a great medium coverage foundation for everyday wear. You can build this up to a fuller coverage or you can set it with a powder foundation to add a little extra coverage. I love this foundation for everyday wear because it also has great benefits for your skin. It contains Vitamin C, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Seaweed Brighteners, and Beta Carotene. These ingredients help to boost collagen production and reduce the appearance of any skin spots or discoloration. This product is also 98% Organic which is amazing!
Duet Perfecting Concealer in Light – This is a great full coverage under eye concealer. Before I made the switch to green beauty I was in love with Mac Pro longwear concealer. My only issue with the pro longwear was it became very drying under my eyes after a while. I don’t have that problem with the Hynt Beauty concealer at all which is probably due to the Cupuacu seed butter which is a superfruit that has deeply hydrating properties. This concealer also contains avocado oil to soften, calm, and balance sensitive or dry irritated skin. The other main ingredient is aloe vera leaf which helps to reduce inflammation and also encourages the production of keratin. It also helps to block up to 30% of ultraviolet rays. My only advice is to definitely set this immediately after applying with a setting powder so it doesn’t crease!
Ecobrow in Marilyn – I used to use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or the Dipbrow Pomade. So using a cream product on my eyebrows wasn’t a hard switch for me. This is just as good as the Dipbrow in my opinion, I don’t miss it at all. There are 6 shade options so it should be pretty easy to find a match for you. If you’re used to an eyebrow pencil or powder maybe stick to something similar instead of jumping to a pomade. But if you wanna try something new then go for it!
Miami Beach Pressed Bronzer – I used a couple different bronzers before switching to green beauty, I loved the Cocoa Bronzer from Too Faced and the Bobbi Brown bronzer. Since I was used to pressed bronzer without shimmer I decided to pick up the Miami Beach bronzer which is pressed and a matte light tan shade. I love using this bronzer with my Nars Ita brush to contour my face. I will also use it on a bigger fluffier brush to just bronze up my face as well. Lily Lolo also has loose bronzer, a dedicated contour duo compact, and samples to purchase if you’re unsure of what you want.
Black Vegan Mascara – Once you do any type of research for a good mascara in the green beauty world this mascara will come up multiple times without a doubt! I really like this mascara, it lengthens and gives volume. This stays on all day and I never have any problems with smudging even after a workout at the gym.
Pressed Blush in Tickled Pink – This blush is a soft peachy pink shade with a slight sheen to it. It has good pigmentation and lasts pretty much all day. They have shimmer and matte options as well as loose blush instead of pressed.

Organic Creme Bronzer in Caramel – This is described as a light bronze with golden undertones and a matte finish. It comes in stick form so its great for contouring. I draw some lines around my forehead, under my jawbone, down the sides of my nose, and under my cheekbones, then blend it out with a brush and my face is looking 5 pounds thinner 😉 If you’re not into contouring then you will be set with just a bronzer.
Powder Blusher in Apricot – This is described as a matte peach pigment with a satin finish. I love the color of this blush since i’m all about peachy orangey shades on my cheeks. I just wish this was a pressed formula but other than that i have no complaints! They also have cheek tints and creme blushes as well.
Organic Creme Highlighter Stick – This is described as a luminous sheen with golden undertones. I like this because its easy to use, just draw it on the high points of the face you want to highlight and you have a great glow going on. I do prefer pressed powder highlighters but I still like this one and sometimes i’ll use it and then top it with a pressed or loose highlighter for extra glow!
