Brown Smokey Eye

I was inspired by Amber Dean on Instagram for this look, she did a super brown smokey eye the other day with some gorgeous lashes and I knew I had to try to recreate it, although I didn’t end up putting on any lashes! I love getting inspiration from makeup artists on Instagram and Youtube and then just finding similar colors that are non toxic and recreating them. I’m not usually a big fan of cool toned browns but I ended up loving the end result. But if you’ve been following me on Instagram you know my love for Hynt Beauty’s Rosy Velvet eye shadow, so I had to throw that in there to warm it up a little bit! Keep reading if you want to know how I achieved this look.

  • For this look I started with my eyes instead of my face to avoid any fallout
  • I primed my eyelids with a little bit of the Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream in BB3 and then set it with my Silk Naturals Tinted Blur Powder
  • Then I went in with my Morphe M441 which is just a big fluffy brush and applied my transition shade in the crease which was Red Apple Lipstick eye shadow in Beachy Keen
  • I then went in with Red Apple Lipstick eye shadow in Yes You Canyon throughout my crease as well but this time I used my smaller Morphe M433 blending brush
  • I then took a flat synthetic packing brush and applied a little bit of the Jane Iredale Gel Liner in Black to my lid and just smudged it out and then applied a mixture of Red Apple Lipstick Yes You Canyon and Brownie points on top of that gel liner all the way up to the crease
  • I then blended out any harsh lines with Hynt Beauty’s Rosy Velvet shadow using the M433 brush again
  • Next I applied Ecobrow in Marilyn to my brows using my Sigma E15 brush

  • Next I moved on to my face before I finished up my lower lash line
  • I used Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream in BB3 and applied little dots all over my face and then blended them out with my Morphe M439 brush and then immediately went over that with a damp beauty blender to smooth out any brush lines
  • Next I went in with Hynt Beauty’s Duet Perfecting Concealer in Light and made a V shape under my eyes and blended that out with my beauty blender
  • I then went in with my Au Naturale Cosmetics Organic Creme Bronzer in Caramel and made lines around my forehead, down either side of my nose, under my jawline, and under my cheekbones
  • I then took my Real Techniques Stippling Brush and blended that out
  • Next I set my face with the Silk Naturals Tinted Blur Powder using my Morphe E3 brush
  • I then applied Dusty Girls Bronzer in Sunshine with my Morphe M527 brush
  • Next I applied Au Naturale Cosmetics Blush in Apricot with my Morphe E4 brush
  • I applied Becca Cosmetics Highlighter in Opal to my cheekbones and down my nose (I know I know this is not non toxic, don’t kill me!)

Back to Eyes:

  • To finish up my under eyes I went in with Red Apple Lipstick shadow in Brownie Points and Yes You Canyon on a small smudger brush
  • I then lined my waterline and tight line with Antonym Cosmetics Liner in Noir
  • I then applied Becca Cosmetics Highlighter on my inner corner using my Morphe E36 brush, it’s the perfect brush for getting in that precise inner corner area
  • I then finished off the eye look with my one and only love Hynt Beauty Nocturne Mascara in Black
  • I contemplated putting on false lashes but I don’t have any non toxic glue yet 🙁

  • I lined my lips using Jane Iredale’s Lip Liner in Spice
  • I then applied Dusty Girls Lipstick in Maca Nude
  • And finally topped that with Pacifica Beauty Enlightened Lip Gloss in Beach Kiss
